You’ll love the location and hospitality at the Marriott Mountain Valley Lodge. You are on the mountain and skiing in minutes. You can store your skis at the rental shop (for free) so you don’t have to lug them around. It’s very convenient because the location is great.
The 1 Bedroom units are nice size with king bed in Master, full kitchen and Jacuzzi tub in Master bath (woohoo!). The Marriott also has 4 outdoor hot tubs and an outdoor heated pool (they will fill up quick after a long day of skiing). People were actually swimming in the pool when it was 20 degrees outside. I was surprised, but it was heated, and kids will be kids! Note, the people from the Hyatt are also allowed to use the pool and hot tubs, and this made them more crowded than you would think they should be.
In regards to the town, the resort is on the far end of Main street, but still walking distance to anything in town. It is very close to the Breckenridge Brewery, Coldstone Creamery, Blue River Sports (the cheapest rentals, and great service), and many other restaurants and shops.
Suggestions:
Do the snow-shoeing that the resort offers. It’s so much fun and the sites are stunning. Although it can be a tad chilly.
Food: Hit Empire Burgers. Great burgers and really great fries. We love that place.
We actually did dog-sledding from a company “Good Times?”. Really great staff. The concierge can help you book this.
