This friendly resort has many amenities--daily cleaning and excellent maintenance, well-supplied fitness room, 3 heated pools, popular beach, night-time parties, water-aerobics & other activities, 3 tennis courts, table-tennis, 3 restaurants, big barbeque, shuffleboard, bocce, bus-ride or long walk to downtown PV, etc. Many time-share owners have been visiting every year for over 20 years (yet units can also be rented), so many long-time friendships have been formed.

Staying at the Villa del Palmar was not the relaxing vacation we anticipated. The rooms are small and the pool area is noisy all day into the night. It will drive you crazy if you are there for peace and quiet. If you want to go and party and be loud perhaps you might like it.

Also the hard pressure to buy timeshares is really annoying. They hit you right away with setting up an appointment.

TIP: Go to the Del Mar (next door) in the day. The pool is much quieter and the food is much better. I almost rated this 3 limes but realized that I didn't want to go back so 2 limes it is...

Here's a great example of a nice resort that is a little above average in decor but the timeshare salespeople are so annoying and relentless that it really does effect your stay. I never thought that would happen. They must be really desperate for sales. So I am conflicted in that I wouldn't subject a friend to that but the resort itself is fine. It's far from great but you wouldn't be disappointed to stay there.
We did have some issues with some of the appliances but they did fix them. The units could be cleaner too. The units could definitely use some upgrading.
On the good side, it's Maui...how bad can it be.
