We are owners at the Egret Point by Spinnaker and are usually there in March.

We rated this 5 limes because the resort is always clean and nice. The units are large and have nice large bathrooms. There are also nice balconies with outdoor chairs and table for eating and having a few drinks over looking the golf course or admiring the scenery.

My husband always plays golf with his friends. He recommends the 3 Shipyard Courses. So there's his 2-cents. The villas come with 2 bicycles to ride and we take that to the beach (10 mins away).

They have a heated pool and a hot tub at the resort. That area is always clean. There is also an Activity Center with billiards, games etc.

Shipyard via the Pope Avenue gatehouse is very close to Coligny Plaza where there are loads of little shops, surf shops, restaurants, including Skillets, and the beach. That is a fun area and the resort can give you all the info about it. I would highly recommend Egret Point.

We took our bikes around the plantation to seek out the other Spinnaker Resorts, Southwind, Southwind II, the Carolina Club, etc and we liked our location the best. The rest are buried away inside the plantation and not as convenient in my opinion.

We enjoy our vacations here. Have fun.

Stayed here over Labor Day weekend. Bigwood Condominium resort is a nice family relaxing resort. It's a small town and a nice feel. This is completely the opposite of DC where I am from. There were a lot of families there and you can go hike in the mountains, play by the pool, walk in town.
The resort needs some updating to get another lime. The service is great it feels like a family runs this but I don't think that they do. I have no complaints but I have stayed in nicer resorts. I think for the area it is nice. The mountains are really nice to see.

I can recommend the Desert Breezes Timeshare Resort. I would have given it 4 limes but there were some minor annoyances that we had (noisy air conditioner which is a tad outdated and also the sliding door out to the patio was always getting stuck).
We stayed in a stayed in a 2-bedroom timeshare unit. The patio was overlooking the pool area which is nice. There are actually 3 pools, exercise room, and a putting green. It was unusually hot that week but luckily there were some cool breezes. It was too hot to sit by the pool. I thought I was going to melt. Suggestion to resort: have someone walk around with cold water. The Marriotts always do that and it doesn’t cost much and the gesture goes a lonnnnnng way.
The jacuzzi was great at night and the stars were incredible! We met some nice people there. The gazebo area by the pool have these hanging misting machines that keep it cool. I can’t imagine the summers :)
