Over a million timeshares wasted last year.

We were disappointed to learn that last year over a million timeshare units went unused. Like milk that sits on the shelf too long, they spoiled. As I’ve said before, we all need more vacations, not less. Each day we have buckets of bad news being thrown at us 24/7. We need to get away, we need a vacation.

We all know that people don’t take enough vacations each year but this information was surprising considering that timeshares are already bought and owned. You’ve already paid for it, why aren’t you using it? Let’s see if we can figure it out.

According to ARDA data, last year:
• 15% of units were “banked for the future” at the exchange company. Most of those “banked” weeks will never be redeemed.
• 9% of units were left “unused”. Empty rooms! That’s bad for resorts but worse for the owners that didn’t use them. Imagine you have a vacation that you own and you don’t use it. What a waste.
• 5% of units were either given away or there was no time available when they wanted to go (read: more unused time!)

What a shame. How can that be?

Here’s a big part of the reason: Timeshare fees. In the timeshare world, fees are rampant. Timeshare fees, particularly fees around exchanging (membership fees and then trading fees), are just too high. They’ve grown and grown over time and have now become too high. The exchange companies, realizing they have no competition, have charged accordingly. The fees have gone up and the service level has gone down.

Enter Timeshare Juice: That’s why I created Timeshare Juice. I wanted to get rid of all those fees and get more people on vacation. There’s no membership fees or exchange fees. Just make the exchange and go on vacation.

Right now due to the poor economic times, there’s less money in the pockets of timeshare owners. So going on vacation is a luxury that is cut out by households. But is that the right thing to do for the family? Is that the right thing to cut out? Is that best for your physical and mental health? Let me ask you this: If you needed major surgery that costs $10,000, would you cut that out? Probably not. So why not spend less than a thousand dollars on a stress-relieving and memory-creating vacation at your timeshare? Airfares are down and you’ll pay nothing to exchange with us. Imagine what that could do for your physical and mental health.

Think for a moment about the best memories of your life. I would bet most occurred while on vacation. Isn’t that right? Think of your favorite vacation moment right now. Go on, think about it. There you are, on the beach. The sand is so soft; the air is so clean; the sun is warm…. Or maybe you’re out on the water in your boat. You’re sitting there enjoying the sun and you’re so free. Look at the smiles of everyone you took on that vacation. Now, I bet you’re feeling much better than you were 2 minutes ago, right?

Go create some memories.

May a great vacation be in your near future!

Best Regards,
Erick
