Ahhh, innovation. A short time ago I received an email from a member telling me that she was using TimeshareJuice along with Craigslist to exchange her timeshare. How is she doing that? She told me she was using the strengths of both sites to draw as much attention as she can to her timeshare so she can get what she wants.
I like Craigslist myself. I’ve sold quite a few items over the years (a desk, a palm pilot, lawn furniture etc). It has massive market penetration and a huge user base. But would you describe it as a nice looking site? Probably not. For most items it’s fine. But for something like “timeshares” it leaves a lot to be desired. When people are booking travel and vacations it helps to have the site look nice.
So Veronica got creative. She listed her timeshare on TimeshareJuice. She then copied the URL pointing to her timeshare listing and pasted it into her Craigslist post. So when someone viewed her post on Craigslist, they could click on the link and view the timeshare on TimeshareJuice.com. Pretty creative! She even received compliments from viewers on the nice display of her unit.
Renting or selling your unit on Craigslist can be a challenge. You are forced to field many, many emails most of which you don’t want. But using Craigslist to exchange a timeshare is even more difficult. The process is quite inefficient in that you get a lot of spam and questions that go back and forth. It’s just not conducive to timeshare exchange. So she grabbed the best of both worlds. Craigslist has a large group of users and TimeshareJuice has the aesthetics and the simple and fast exchange process. And off she went. Kudos to you, Veronica!
She received lots of offers to rent her unit which she would have done if she couldn’t find a suitable exchange. In the end, Veronica got her exchange. But it didn’t come from a Craigslist member. Well, not exactly. It came from a TimeshareJuice member that saw her post on Craigslist and then joined TimeshareJuice as a member to send her an offer via the site. She figures she increased the number of viewings of her timeshare tenfold by posting it on both sites. “It took a little extra time posting it on both sites but it was well worth the savings.”
Give it some time and there won’t be a need to use Craigslist as TimeshareJuice will have a large group of users too. We’re growing very quickly. But in the mean time, it helps to be innovative. Way to go Veronica!
